As you would expect at one of our events, we are looking forward to hosting a number of craft marquees with some of the top craftsmen and women from across the UK. We offer crafts of all sorts, often demonstrated on the stalls by the crafters themselves.
You will find a diverse collection of stalls of beautiful jewellery made of the traditional silver, gemstones or other precious metals through to the more unusual wood, glass or even coins. Modern, traditional, Celtic or fantasy: you will find something for every taste.
There will also be a diverse array of clothing from knitwear to tweeds: traditional country clothing or something a little different for the evening, or maybe a warm jumper for a child. Accessories also feature heavily in our marquees, with scarves, socks, hair accessories and hats also complementing the jewellery previously mentioned.
In Spring it’s traditionally time to do up the home and garden a bit, so how about a new vase to hold the daffodils and tulips? Pottery or glass; you could even watch how they are made before you buy! Or a new picture for the wall by one of our many artists or photographers. Soft furnishings are available in a mixture of styles and designs as are lamps, candles, home woven rugs or sculptures of ceramic or glass, and we challenge you to find how many different styles of clocks are available across the show!
Moving outside to the garden, you can find garden accessories and ornaments in abundance. The blacksmiths’ marquee is a good place to start, with hanging basket holders, weather-vanes or even fire-pits for those slightly chilly evenings. You can also find water features in copper, wooden garden furniture or ceramic outdoor sculptures. Another unmissable opportunity for the garden is the chainsaw carving area, where the carvers will be producing sculptures of different sizes and themes, from benches to dragons! Most will take commissions if you cannot find exactly what you are looking for but like a particular carver’s work.
For the children there are a myriad of present opportunities from clothing, through teddy bears, wooden puzzles and treasure boxes and much more.
And of course there are many stalls which just don’t fit into any of these categories. Unique stalls of pottery fairy gardens, fossils or football stadium photographs and many more. There really is something for everyone in our craft village, so whether you are looking for a special birthday present, wedding present or something for your own home or garden, you are bound to find that unique and precious item somewhere in our extensive craft area. Come and browse to your heart’s content!
And if certain members of the family don’t really get fired up by the idea, we do have a fully stocked bar where they can wait in comfort while you shop…
