The Cheshire Game and Country Fair – August 29th & 30th 2021

A new event for new times.

Due to the current pandemic for this year we have replaced the English Open Chainsaw Competition with the very Best of British

This competition will be split into two groups of carvers over the 2-days. We will be inviting UK-based carvers to attend in one of the two categories.

An expert competition and a novice competition for those that have recently started chainsaw carving and entering chainsaw competitions and for some this may be their first competition.

The expert competition will be made up of those that you may have seen at our shows before with a number of them having entered international carving events all around the world.

We will be asking the competitors to take part in the “full power” competition taken from the English open competition, this means each carver has 15 hours over the two days from 8 till 6 on day one and 8 till 1 on day two to complete one main carving, this must be constructed from a single log, selected from the log draw. Full power means you can make use of any chainsaw power tool to create your sculpture within the allotted time.

Speed Carve Speed Carving Sessions – Duration 30minutes

The 30-minute speed carving sessions are undertaken in a separate arena. There will be two speed carves on Sunday the approximate time would be 11.30am – 12 noon and 3pm – 3.30pm. With the auction to follow immediately after each carve. Monday would see one scheduled session around 11am – 11.30am and then followed by the auction. Carvers Procedure at the Auction. The speed carving is taken around the arena by the Carver for close up viewing (a brisk walk) whilst it is being auctioned.

Its fantastic to watch and good fun with a chance to win your favourite piece in the auction that follows.
