Chainsaw Carving at Living Heritage Events

Living Heritage have been supporting Chainsaw Carving at all our shows for many years now.

The chainsaw area has a number of sections and includes

  •  Chainsaw Carving Pens -each carver will have their own pen to work from. Over the weekend they will demonstrate their skills and produce a single sculpture. This will be auctioned on the final day after the final speed carver auction.
  • Chainsaw Carving Pens Sales – Each carver will have a selection of their work that they bring to the show to sell. These pieces are selected by the carver and gives the show visitor time to talk to the carver about their work and experiences.
  • Speed Carve Arena – during the day there will be two or three 30 minute speed carves (depending on the show). This is an event where all the carvers carve a small sculpture in a timed event in front of the watching crowd. The event is proceeded with an auction where each piece is sold to the highest bidder.

Within the Chainsaw area there will be a gallery showcasing wooden sculptures. Some of these may be made with a chainsaw and some maybe hand carved and hand crafted.

Bespoke individual pieces ideal for any home or gift.

Hebsta Chainsaw Artist

With a career spanning over 15 years in the craft, my work is rooted in a lifetime of working outdoors. My background as a landscape gardener and chainsaw operator provided the foundation for what I do today, giving me an intimate understanding of how a tree grows and how its story continues long after it has fallen.

My goal is to allow the tree to relive through art. This process often begins by foraging through woodlands and open spaces to find unique, weathered pieces of natural wood shaped by the elements. To complement these finds, I source high-quality, seasoned timber directly from local mills and tree surgeons, ensuring every piece is stable and durable.

I specialize in a refined wall-hanging art form rather than traditional large-scale sculptures. My work covers a wide spectrum of subjects, from natural wildlife to detailed mythical forms, creating intricate pieces designed to sit naturally within a home interior or as a focal point in a garden.

The Found Art Collection

The Found Art Collection is born from the unique, weathered wood discovered while foraging through woodlands and open spaces. These pieces are guided by the natural shapes and textures found in the wild, allowing the organic character of the timber to dictate the final form of the art.

In the Speed Carve Arena the carvers will enter in a timed event twice daily with all pieces being auctioned off after each event.
