2024 marks the 100-year birthday of the Brit European Group!
To celebrate our centenary, we will be holding a family day for all staff, drivers, customers and suppliers on 25th & 26th August 2024 at the Cheshire Game and Country Fair, which will be packed full of fun, food and drink – plus a chance to see some of the equipment that we run, some of the client’s products that we move, a chance to look back over our history – and even a chance to see our exclusive GOLD trucks!
The last century has seen a lot of change across the world and in particular the haulage industry – but one thing that has remained constant is the Brit European Group’s dedication to quality, and being at the cutting edge of technology and innovation.
Having started with our 1 horse power milk tanker in 1924 serving the Cheshire farms we have seen many iterations and evolutions over the following century.
Current CEO Graham Lackey is only the 4th CEO in the company’s history, and only with that level of commitment and stability can you reach such an amazing milestone as clocking up your century!
Our history is full of momentous achievements – from being pioneers in cross channel movements in the 1960s and 1970s, to growth, expansion and numerous awards ever since, Brit European Group has gone from strength to strength.
2023 was a massive landmark in our history with two major achievements – the acquisition of Richard Long Transport and the expansion into Europe that this brings, and the official opening of the ground breaking Vita Nova Centre, setting the industry standard for how new sites can be built in an ecologically positive way.
But we didn’t get where we are by resting on our laurels, and 2024 promises to be another exciting year for us!
